Banchory Lodge Hotel
Built as a coaching inn in the seventeenth century and later as a private country house, the building has been carefully and tastefully extended by it's proprietor Mrs Margaret Jaffray. In older days the Deeside road passed through the grounds of Banchory Lodge and it was here the mail coach halted to change horses for the journey up Deeside.
The main dining room adorned with floral displays and Victorian furnishings, is enhanced with views overlooking the river. The menu offers an imaginative range of modern-Scottish dishes, using local produce including salmon and Aberdeen Angus beef.
Head Chef, Jeff Purvis is a member of Master Chefs of Great Britain and of the Scotch Beef Club. Chef works closely with two local butchers who are prepared to hang his beef for 28 days, thereafter butchering and preparing himself. Banchory Lodge has an excellent reputation for beef and is monitored by the Scotch Beef Club.
